Information for New Members

This page provides information about the Club that will be helpful to new members.

Membership and Fees

Membership commences and fees are set with each new season beginning in October. The Club relies heavily on membership fees to stay in operation. Most of the work done at the Club is by our volunteer members. Members are assigned to Work Teams and are called upon occasionally to help out with Club activities.

Full Membership

Full membership allows the member to participate in as many leagues for which they qualify.

Single League Membership

A Single League Membership is less than the cost of a Full Memberhip and allows a member to play in one league that plays one game per week. Additional games may be played on a Pay as You Play basis, at $10.00 per game. Members using this option must sign in and pay in advance of playing. After paying for 10 additional games, the member is considered to have a full membership.

Types of Leagues

The following leagues are currently available at the Morrisburg Curling Club (subject to change based on membership requirements): Men, Women, Senior Men, Mixed, Bantam
Current schedules are available on the Leagues page. Information about the different types of competitions is available on the Ontario Curling Association information sheet

Use of Equipment

You don't have to invest in all of the curling equipment you will need right away. The Club has brushes and sticks available for your use. We just ask that this equipment is returned to the storage area following your game. The Canadian Curling Association provides some good information about curling equipment and clothing, including proper gloves and footwear, on their website.

On the Ice

The Ontario Curling Association provides the following tip sheets on how to play the game:

Pot of Gold

The Pot of Gold is one of our ongoing fundraisers. Each week we draw a member's name. If that member has paid and signed the sheet, they win half the pot. Cost: $2.00
